Fees & Insurance

Private Pay

Recommended

Contact Laura for current session rates

Your care remains entirely private — information about your sessions is yours to share, or not share, with your employer or insurer. You retain full control over your treatment with no session limits and no insurance-mandated requirements. A superbill is provided for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Aetna Insurance

In-Network

Mindful Mountain Counseling is in-network with Aetna. Contact your plan to verify behavioral health benefits, deductible status, and copay amounts before your first session.

Before your first session, ask Aetna

Do I have outpatient mental health benefits? What is my deductible and has it been met? What is my copay for an in-network LPC? Do I need a referral or prior authorization?

Why many clients choose private pay.

Your Aetna benefits are available and honored. However, many clients — particularly professionals and those in licensed or regulated careers — choose private pay:

  • A mental health diagnosis on your insurance record can affect professional licenses, security clearances, and life insurance applications
  • Insurance companies can request access to session notes, limiting clinical privacy
  • Insurers may limit the number of covered sessions or the modalities they reimburse
  • Private pay gives you complete control with no third-party involvement in your care

Laura is glad to discuss which option makes the most sense for your situation.

Out-of-Network Reimbursement

If you pay privately and hold a PPO plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Laura provides a detailed superbill — with diagnosis and procedure codes — that you submit directly to your insurer. Many PPO clients recoup a significant portion of session costs. Contact your insurer to verify out-of-network mental health benefits before your first appointment.

FAQ

Common questions.

More questions? Call (602) 615-0166 or send a message below.

Laura draws from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed care. Treatment plans are individualized to each client’s goals and clinical presentation.
Mindful Mountain Counseling is in-network with Aetna. Many clients also choose to pay privately — which offers the highest level of confidentiality and clinical flexibility. Private-pay clients with PPO plans can submit Laura’s superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Contact your insurer to verify your specific benefits before your first appointment.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy recognized by the WHO and the APA as effective for trauma and PTSD. It helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer trigger overwhelming responses. Whether EMDR is appropriate for you will be assessed during initial sessions.
SFBT is a future-focused, goal-oriented approach centered on identifying what is already working and building toward specific desired outcomes rather than extensive analysis of past problems. It tends to be shorter-term and practical, making it effective for adults who want efficient, measurable progress.
Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for the vast majority of clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. All sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms. You must be physically located in a state where Laura holds licensure at the time of each session.
Under the federal No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), you are entitled to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected costs if you are uninsured or choosing not to use your insurance. If your final bill exceeds the estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute it. See the Legal Notices section below or contact Laura directly to request your estimate.
